Bell air R/C Flyers, Minutes of May 19 th Meeting

 Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM by President Kelvin Buck. Twenty eight members and guests were present in spite of the threatening skies.

The minutes of the April meeting were read and approved.

The treasurer gave her report of a healthy bank balance, and stated that the club now has 65 paid up members for 2008. $126 worth of hats has been sold. Meeting raffles have brought in $84 at a cost of $170 for prizes, showing a deficit of $86 for the year.

No Safety report.

Old and New Business:

Set-up for the Ski to Sea Parade was discussed. 6 to 8 planes are needed for the trailer. The time for meeting and set up of the trailer is 8AM at the G.P.Credit Union parking lot, corner of James and Alabama Streets. We have been allocated 19 th position and need to be in line at 10 AM .

Mark Metge, CD for the “Big Bird,” asked for help to setup the shelters and additional fences and barriers on Friday June 6 at 10 AM .

Al Wackerbarth has agreed to keep and transport the raffle model. The drawing is planned for the “War Bird” event.

 

War Bird CD Gerry Becker reported that Hobby Town and Wings Embroidery will set up tables at that event. They will donate merchandise as well as having items for sale.

Bud Swanson has donated several models and equipment to sell at events to benefit the club.

Kelvin asked members to bring additional food items for the meetings at the field.

A new wind sock was received and set up following the meeting.

 

Show and Tell:

Wally Swartz showed his new Jungman biplane. It was built from a 10 year old salvaged kit. Powered by a Saito 100, the plane flies nicely, and has about 10 flights on its log.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 PM.
