Minutes Jan, 2006 |
| January 2006, Bell Air R.C.Flyers Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 7:35 P.M. at the Heritage Flight Museum Hangar. President Pat Eastman welcomed members and guests. He presented the items that were in the raffle and encouraged people to buy tickets later. The minutes of the December 2005 meeting were read and approved. Pat Eastman gave the treasurer’s report in the absence of the treasurer, Ms.Gail Buck. Pat passed a letter around from Brian Motta that had pictures of his new home. Brian is/was a member who has moved up further into B.C. to a location on beautiful lake. He has been flying off the ice and is looking forward to warmer weather. Old Business: Pat is looking into the P.A. system and thinks the old one could be satisfactory with repair. He speculates that some interference from Ham radio frequencies could be the problem with the cordless mikes. The memorial plaque has been taken to the engravers for the addition of Bill Fayette’s and Art Schaller’s names. Pat had several announcements; He announced that the Puyallup exhibition is, Feb.3, 4, 5, and that the Barons Club ( Spokane ) is having a show/swap meet event in March. He also reported that a pair of glasses had been left at the field. The owner can retrieve them from Pat. The 50/50 raffle is still open and tickets are still available at $5 each and the raffle will continue until all the tickets have been sold. New Business; Pat announced that club dues for 2006 are now payable and the gate combination will be changed on Feb 1 st. Current AMA and field dues are now required to fly. After some discussion dates for events and coordinators were established. Combat and Pylon Racing, June through August. No leaders as yet. The 17 th annual Big Bird, June 3 rd and 4 th, with Pat Eastman, Mark Metge, Renny Stefani Dave Kimbler and Al Wackerbarth on the organizing committee. Scale event, July 8th, Gerry Becker and Ken Huber co-coordinators. War Birds Over Whatcom, August 5 th and 6 th, with Gerry Becker directing. All Bird Fly-in and Potluck August 26 th and Fun Fly August 27 th. Budgets for the events were discussed, and tentative funding was established. Big Bird funding was left open, due to uncertainty of weather for the two day event. Scale meet was set at $100, War Birds $150, All Bird $100, Pylon $150, and Combat $150. It was decided to enter the Ski to Sea Parade on May 27 th. Pat Eastman and Mike Bishop are heading this up. Members are asked to bring planes for the float (trailer) and walk with the float along the parade route. Pat asked for a spring work party to patch cracks in the runway also to install a door over the tower ladder to prevent unauthorized climbers and help avoid possible harm to them. Also the club house needs some work to set it up for food and beverage service at events. It was decided to raffle off a model this year with tickets being sold at the Big Bird and War Bird events. The winning number would be drawn at the War Bird event. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 and the raffle was held. Reported and submitted for approval by Jim Bradshaw, secretary. |
