MINUTES OF JANUARY BELL AIR RC CLUB MEETING

The Meeting was called to order at 7 PM at the Heritage Flight Museum by President Kelvin Buck.

There were 22 members and guests present.

The minutes of the December meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer Gail Buck presented the financial report.

OLD BUSINESS;

Kelvin reminded the group that members need to have a current AMA card and membership dues paid for 2007, in order to fly at the field. Also field dues have been increased to $70 making a total fee of $80. Checks should be made out to Bell Air RC Flyers.

NEW BUSINESS;

Rennie Stefani is now taking orders for discounted fuel from Red Max. Rennie has order forms.

Dates for the 2007 event calendar were discussed. Dates and budgets were set as follows;

Big Bird -- June 2 nd and 3 rd; with an open ended budget to accommodate weather conditions.

CDs Bill Schnobrich and Mark Metge

Fun Scale -- Saturday July 7 th; budget $110; CDs Gerry Becker and Bill Schnobrich.

War birds Over Whatcom -- Saturday and Sunday August 4 th and 5 th; Budget $120; Gerry Becker and Bill Schnobrich CDs.

All Bird Fly In -- Saturday August 25 th ; a budget of $150; Pat Eastman CD.

Fun Fly-- Sunday August 26 th; budget $150; Scott Wolff directing.

Ski to Sea Parade-- May 26 th; Earl Cammack will be the coordinator.

Pylon Racing and Combat are each allotted budgets of $75 each. Jerry McLean and Charles Pilchard will be directors if sufficient interest is established to run these events.

The Safety Officer, Gerry Becker, gave an explanation of the AMA’s insurance coverage. He also urged people to thoroughly check out their aircraft during the winter. Batteries should be cycled to determine their condition and replaced if necessary. Also structure and flight controls need to be examined and repaired as necessary. He also advised caution in the shop to avoid injury.

Fund raising ideas for the club were also discussed. It was decided that the club would raffle off a trainer and radio the same as last year. Mike Bishop volunteered to assemble the model. The making of a video log of the 2007 events was proposed. CDs could be produced as sales demand.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45.
