| Bell Air December 5 th 2005 Meeting/Holiday Party
President Jerry McLean called the meeting to order at 7 pm in the WECU facility on Holley Street . Members and new officers for 2006 were welcomed. The slate of incoming officers is; President elect Pat Eastman, Vice president Mike Bishop, Safety Officer Scott Wolf and Field Marshall Gene Tapporro. Jim Bradshaw will continue as Secretary and Gail Buck will remain Treasurer for the year 2006.
Members signed a card of condolence for Mrs. Art Schaller. Art was a longtime member and was instrumental in the development of the club’s flying field. Jerry suggested that we might obtain some three tier bleachers for the flying field for events in honor of Art’s many contributions to the club. In addition Jerry commented that one of the main purposes of the club is to train new pilots. New pilots earning their wings this year were, Rick O’Connor, Martin Castle, Curt Crape, Dick Hanson, Mark Petee and Gene Tapparro. After stating that competition is a way that pilots can increase their skills, Jerry presented combat trophies to Charlie Pilchard, 1 st place, Jerry McLean, 2 nd place, Mike Bishop 3 rd place, Mark Metge, 4thplace, Wally Swartz 5th place, Jay Schoening 6 th place and Dave Kimbler, 7th place. Pylon racers Jerry McLean, Scott Wolf, Mark Metge, Wally Schwartz, Jay Schoening, Gerry Watley and Jim Bradshaw were presented trophies for 1 st through 7 th place in order of listing. Charlie Pilchard was awarded the “most spectacular” crash trophy. Jerry thanked all the people who organized and helped with club events in 2005. Special thanks went to Head Instructor Renny Stefani, Safety Officer Gerry Becker, webmaster Kelvin Buck, and Treasurer Gail Buck for her work in food service at the club events as well as her duties as treasurer. Al Wackerbarth’s many hours as cook at events was also acknowledged. Don Wilson was thanked for his organization of the Ski to Sea parade float, Scott Wolf for the fun fly and electric fly-in along with C.D. Mark Metge. Special thanks went to Russ Haines for his great job of keeping the field in top order. Incoming President Pat Eastman outlined some of his agenda for 2006. The meeting was adjourned and a free raffle was held. Attendees were treated to delicious goodies prepared by Ms. Gail Buck. Minutes recorded for approval by Jim Bradshaw. |
