Bell-Air R/C Flyers December Monthly Meeting

December 14 th, 2009 7:00pm @ Ferndale WECU Building

E-board members in attendance: Paul Baker – President, Mark Metge – Vice President, Renny Stefani – Treasurer, Jay Schoening – Safety Officer, Gene Tapparo – Field Marshall, Rory Cahill – Secretary and 25 hungry faithfulls.

The meeting was called to order at 7:00pm; a sign-up sheet was passed out to the membership as well as an obituary for past member Steve Batterberry who passed away on November 25 th 2009.

Guests were introduced: Mary, Wendy, Sheral (?), Janice, Pam, Patty, and Melanie. My apologies if I missed anyone.

November’s minutes were read and approved.

No new communications to the club.

Renny gave the Treasurer’s Report and settlement of outstanding accounts.

Paul gave a short President’s Report including reading a letter from a former member Roger Monroe. He is now flying electrics in Burlington but enjoyed his time as a Bell-Air Flyer.

Jay reported that his monthly safety report was submitted to Bill Law for inclusion in the quarterly newsletter. Gene Tapparo stated that it is too soon to get a fuel order up and running. He will start looking after the first of the year.

For the good of the club: Paul presented Renny Stefani with the “President’s Award” for his tireless work towards making the club a better place.

Mark Metge presented Donna Baker with a plaque showing the club’s appreciation for her culinary skills and willingness to “share”. The club also presented Donna with a chef’s hat which had a name tag proclaiming her as the “Executive Chef”.

Paul Baker will present the “Lifetime Booster” to Russ Haines for his role in promoting Bell-Air R/C Flyers and the AMA program.

Gene Tapparo was presented with the “Spectacular Crash” of the year award. This is a memorial award and must be given back next December to be presented to the 2010 recipient. It is possible to win the award two years in a row!

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 and was followed by a scrumptious Christmas dinner prepared by Donna and crew. From your club’s E-Board - Happy Holidays!

Respectfully submitted – Rory Cahill
