Minutes

Bellair R/C Flyers   February 18th 2008 Meeting

 

Call to order:

   The meeting was called to order at 7 pm at the heritage flight museum by the Treasurer,

Ms Gail Buck. The President and Vice President were absent. There were 37 members and guests present.

   The Treasurer reported on the clubs finances. Details can be furnished upon request

   The minutes of the last meeting were read and accepted.

 

Old Business:

   The website problem has been addressed by Kelvin and the site is up and running again.

   Alan Bass has volunteered to make new wind socks for the field.

   The club charter renewal is in the works to be sent in to AMA.

    Incorporation papers have been completed and sent in.

 

   New Business:

   The Ski to Sea parade was discussed. It was agreed that the club would participate. There are more details left to be worked out, but Kelvin can get a trailer and truck. The event is on the last weekend in May.

   The Sanction requests for the “Big Bird” and the “Warbirds”events have been sent in.

   Rennie Stefani is heading up the field mowing crew assisted by Don Page. He asked that mowing day on Mondays be changed to Wednesdays. Mowing can usually be completed in the morning and flying allowed after the field portion has been done. No flying can be allowed during the mowing of the runway and field over-fly areas. Volunteers are gladly accepted to assist the mowing crew.

  Rennie also has received the fuel order. Anyone who has not picked up his or her fuel should contact him.

   The Maritime Heritage Museum is having an exhibit on March 14th through the 16th.Members are invited to bring models for display at the Museum.

 Show and Tell:

  Gerry Becker showed his newly renovated WW1 Bristol fighter.

Safety Report:

    One of the members reported that a safety recall is out for certain Futaba 2.4 GHz radio systems. A transmitter programming defect can cause interference or loss of signal. Owners of these radios should check with a dealer or the Futaba website to determine if they have one of the affected systems.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30.
