Minutes Mar/15

Earl opened the meeting at 7 P.M.

Earl announced that Pat will be there in 20 minutes. Earl asked for the reading of the previous minutes.
Scott read them aloud. Earl asked for the financial report to be read.

Jeremy brought us up to date on the current financial business.

Earl checked in with Don for an update on airfest. Don is still trying to meet with our contact at the port. No progress has been made and there is nothing to report.

Earl asked Jerry Becker for a report on safety. Jerry has posted some information on the web page. Please access the web page to see this. In short it states that we are not to take off or land from the pit area.

Earl led a discussion on the possibility of us being in the ski to sea parade. No progress to report. We will discuss this again next month.

Earl asked Charlie for an update on combat. We are now going to be able to use a smaller streamers. Half the width of the old streamers. Keep building and get ready for a great season.

Earl asked Jerry for an update on pylon racing. More members are planning to fly pylon and he looks forward to a great season.

Pat arrived at the meeting. He brought us up to date on the water issues and all that has transpired since the last meeting. Pat recommended that the owners of the field pick up where he has left off with the county and Lummi Nation. Pat's point is that he is representing the club and is not a representative for the owners.

Pat opened the meeting for new business. Jeremy was the first with new business. Jeremy will need to step down from being the treasurer because he is moving to Alaska at the end of the month. Jeremy requested that we hold an election and vote a new treasurer in tonight.

Pat opened the floor for nominations. We voted for Mark to be our new treasurer.

Pat notified us that we need volunteers for lawn mowing this year. Some discussion was held on the subject. There was five members that have volunteered for the first mowing. More discussion will follow at the next meeting.

Pat discussed the possibility of doing more T shirts for the club. No definate plans have been made and more discussion will be held at the next meeting.

Pat talked about giving space and courtesy to new pilots coming up this year. He also talked about using the wheel cholks when starting your plane on the tables.
