The meeting was called to order at 7:15 by President Jerry Mc Lean
Two new members one guest were introduced.
Minutes of last meeting were read by Jim Bradshaw
Jerry reported on the Museum open house. There were 6 models and members present. He would like to have more member participation.
Big bird report. We can begin to sell tickets for the Flight simulator drawing at the next museum open house.
Field report: Russ has begun mowing. He will try to confine mowing to Mondays or Tuesday as weather permits. No flying will be permitted during mowing for obvious safety reasons.
After some discussion it was decided to order T shirts with a new design to be determined by the club president. Members requested larger T shirts this year. We have many small and medium sizes left from last year.
The new wind sock is ready to install. Russ requested help to take the pole down. Several members volunteered to do this on Saturday the 26 th at 10:00 AM
The Can-Am event was approved by the members for May 7, with Canadian guests invited to stay over and fly on Sunday if they would like.
There was discussion on naming some events in honor of deceased members. No decision was made on this matter.
Gerry Becker gave a talk on safety. He announced that the club would get a new large First Aid kit to be stored in the North container and the placement of the key to access it. He also gave a review of the club’s field safety and some good advice on pre-flighting and battery maintenance.
Kelvin Buck gave a talk on Lithium-Ion batteries and their use as flight radio packs.
Charlie Pilchard showed his new high tech light weight model that used a lot of carbon fiber material.
Jerry Mc Lean also had his new Quickie racer on display.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 PM and the monthly drawing was held.
