| March 2006, Bell Air R/C Flyers Meeting Minutes. The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM at the Heritage Flight Museum . President Pat Eastman presented the raffle items and encouraged people to buy tickets later. He also announced that there are still tickets for the 50-50 raffle. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Officer reports: President’s report: Pat Eastman reported that the field was in good shape and that many members had been flying during the good weather of the previous weekend. Pat announced that plans to install a plywood door over the ladder to the tower were in the works. This would probably be done during the week after the meeting. He also thanked Jerry McLean for welding the broken mower part. The renewal of the club charter has been received. Pat announced that there are many hats and T shirts left from last year. A proposal not to purchase more of these items was approved by the members present. Members were reminded to take home their own trash from the field. Also, members should keep a look out for unauthorized persons flying at the field. Current AMA and club membership cards are required for liability insurance coverage. There were no other officer reports. New Business: Committee reports; Pat asked members of the Big Bird event committee to get together with him after the meeting. Gerry Becker reported that the sanction for the “War Birds Over Whatcom” event had been received. Pat read both the club rules and the AMA rules in accordance with AMA safety regulations. Members were reminded to put extra effort into pre-flight inspections and battery maintenance. Pat outlined and discussed the coming event schedule and encouraged members to participate in this year’s events. There was some discussion of the Ski to Sea parade. The same trailer and vehicle are available for this year’s event Earl Cammack volunteered to assemble the ARF trainer for this year’s raffle. A work party is needed to fill runway cracks and repair the wind sock. Also help is needed to trim around the tables and buildings. Saturday April 15 was set as the date, 10 AM . April will be the last meeting indoors; May’s meeting will be at the field. Show and Tell; Mark Metge presented his new Quickie racer and Wally Swartz showed his new AT-6 model. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 and raffle was held. Minutes recorded and submitted for approval by Jim Bradshaw. |
