Pat opened the meeting at 7:00
Pat called for the reading of the minutes. Scott read them.
Pat turned the floor over to Mark for the Treasurer’s report. Mark stated the as of today he is now on the bank account. He is still coming up to speed on everything but does not anticipate any problems.
Pat announced that the water problems are over with this year. Pat was able to talk to the right person to get the ditches cleaned out of debris. The field is now dry!
Pat announced that the field dues are to be paid by now. The combo on the lock has been changed and current AMA cards are to be used if you want to fly. It is everyone’s responsibility to help monitor the flyers for current cards. It is a major risk to us if a flyer does not have a current card to fly.
Pat turned the meeting over to Jerry Becker for a safety report. Jerry wants everyone to know that we are all safety officers. He suggested that we place maps with an address and directions of how to tell emergency personnel how to find the field in the case of an emergency. Jerry asked Dennis to stand up and tell of his recent propeller encounter. Jerry reminded everyone to only fly over the runway and farther away from the other pilots. Only take off and land on the runway or farther out from other pilots.
Pat will look into have a training day on first aid for club members that would be interested.
Pat told a story about dead batteries to remind us to double check that our batteries are charged and ready to fly.
Pat called for a report on pylon and combat flying. Everything is good and waiting for better weather and the flying to begin.
Pat called on Don to give an update on Air-Fest. Don reported that we now have the insurance papers to be filled out and sent in. More to come at the next meeting.
Pat discussed big bird. We need volunteers for help to put this event on. Pat wants have a committee for this event.
Pat wants to have a committee formed for mowing the field this summer. Please contact Russ to help with this. It is not a paid job. Let’s just do it and volunteer to keep the field looking nice.
Pat brought us up to date with the sign on the containers. They are being painted as we speak and will be done soon.
Pat closed out old business and opened the floor for new business.
Pat discussed the exposure that we can have from entering into the ski to sea parade. Pat received approval and enough interest to proceed with this parade. More discussion to follow.
Pat has made up the tickets for the drawings for Air-Fest and the big bird. Pat proposed that we get on the ball and start to sell these tickets.
Pat announced a work party for Saturday. Bring a paintbrush and a working attitude for a fun morning of work.
Pat announced that the Can-Am is scheduled for May 8, 2004
Kelvin will do a demo on fiber glassing an airplane.
