Minutes April 17, 2006 Bell Air R/C Flyers Meeting

The meeting was called to order at 7 pm at the Heritage Flight Museum , with 24 members present.

The minutes of the March meeting were read and approved.

The Treasurer presented the financial report.

Safety Officer, Scott Wolff asked flyers to give their models a good check before flying after the long winter inactive period.

Old Business and Presidents report: Pat Eastman announced the Masters Qualifier meet that is scheduled for June 23 at Nampa , Idaho .

Pat reported on the field. It has been mowed and is looking good. He asked members to be sure to spin the numbers on the gate combination lock, and to make sure that it is properly locked before leaving.

The work party for April 15 was called off due to rain and windy weather. It has been rescheduled for Saturday May 6 th, 10 AM .

The ARF model for the raffle has been completed by Earl Cammack.

It was decided that we will use the standard roll tickets rather than having custom tickets printed.

The door covering the tower ladder has been installed by Russ Haines. The lock combination is the same as the gate. Members are requested to re-lock the gate after using the tower to prevent unauthorized use.

Members are asked to watch for use of current AMA cards.

New Business and Committee Reports;

Combat and Pylon: Wally Swartz reported on the combat and pylon racing. Combat will begin on Thursday June 1 st and racing on June 8 th. Both activities start at 6PM. Details for both are still being finalized.

Ski to Sea Parade: Pat Eastman reported that the same vehicle and trailer are available for the parade and asked members to bring models to display and distribute hand-outs along the parade route.

Big Bird: June 3 rd and 4 th. Advertising posters are being created

Scale Meet: Gerry Becker asked for discussion on the scale event since entries have declined. It was discussed and decided to open up the event to other clubs and charge a $5 landing fee to defray costs. Models will be judged on static appearance before the flying portion of the event.

War Bird: Mr. Becker is in the process of creating the trophies.

All Bird and Fun Fly: August 26 and 27.The continuation of the 50-50 raffle was discussed and approved. The drawing will take place after the last scheduled event.

The May meeting will be May 15 th at the field, 6:00 PM .

Show and tell; Charlie Pilchard, Wally Swartz, Rennie Stefani, Pat Eastman, Mike Bishop, and Jim Bradshaw had new models to show.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 and the raffle was held.
