Safety Report;

Safety Officer, Gerry Becker reported that he has used the new frequency board for the 2.4 MHz. radios and his new 2.4 MHz radio as well. He re-emphasized the need to use the frequency board for all radio types and added safety is everyone’s job. He introduced Chief Instructor Rennie Stefani who gave an interesting talk on flying safety.

Rennie stressed the importance of maintaining control at all times while flying models. Some of the safety issues Rennie discussed were the importance of radio range checks, with the engine running as well as without the engine running, keeping good visual contact with the model, traffic control priorities, and flying in the designated areas. Pilots should also announce their intentions when entering the take off area and landing pattern. He also presented useful ways to stand that help keep the pilot properly oriented to his/her aircraft.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 PM
