Pat announced that he would be leaving early to go to work.

Big bird was a success for the club. Pat thanked everyone for their participation.

Pat asked for volunteers for air fest. The more people that show up to help the better the event will be. Scale meet will be July 10. Gerry Becker will go over this later.

Pat announced a letter from a chess club to do a demo out in Lynden. Gerry Becker will go out and investigate to see if this would be possible.

Pat spoke about the lettering on jackets and there is a place in the mall to do airplane logos and lettering. Look at Jerry McLean ’s or Pat’s jacket.

Pat announced that Scott and Mark would take over the rest of the meeting.

Scott read the minutes from the previous meeting.

Mark read the treasurers report.

Don spoke on the logistics of air fest and where he is at with this event. We will meet at the airport at 7 to set up and get the booths in order. There are 10 passes to give out to volunteers. Bud will bring all the tents, stakes and the whole enchilada. Don needs to have everyone bring an airplane. Lets bring the pylons out there to help represent pylon racing and some combat planes as well. The planes will be stored in Jerry Chambers hanger at the airport.

Scott asked for a report on combat and Pylon racing.

Scott asked for a report on safety.

Gerry Becker reminded us to use sunscreen while out at the field. He also asked that if you are going to the field and fly to try and have another person out there or at least have a cell phone in the case of an emergency.

Gerry turned the meeting over to Jerry Freck to do a presentation to us about gas engines to discuss safety issues or problems that can arise.

Scott asked Gerry Becker for a few words on the upcoming scale meet.

Gerry gave some detail as the nature of the scale meet and some requirements that will be asked of each pilot. Gerry discussed the awards and how the planes will be judged.

Scott asked if there were any new people and any announcements.

We had two new people come and visit. Jerry Freck asked that we hold our annual big bird a different weekend so we can get a better participation for other clubs.
