MINUTES OF JUly 16 TH BELL AIR R/C FLYERS MEETING

The meeting was called to order at 6:35 at the field. There were 30 members, and guests present. President Kelvin Buck welcomed the members, and presented the items for the monthly raffle.

Kelvin stated that he had mailed out thank you letters to all the sponsors of the Fun Scale meet. The Fun Scale meet was declared a success. There were 11 registered pilots and 18 models entered in the event.

The minutes of the June meeting were read and approved.

Treasurer Gail Buck reported on the proceeds of the Fun scale meet, and the current bank balance.

Renny Stefani gave the safety report for Gerry Becker who was unable to attend the meeting. He also announced the results of the pilot ballots at the Fun Scale meet. Renny also presented the outline for the upcoming “Warbird”event. There will be a need for a work party to set up the field on Friday, August 3 rd. Also the extra barriers, tents etc. need to be stowed away before the field is opened for general flying on Sunday.

Chas. Pilchard reported on the first combat session.

Jerry Mc Lean stated that pylon racing will be in September if enough people can be rounded up to participate. Racing could possibly continue over the winter season as weather permits.

The heritage Flight museum is having a special event the week end of July 27 th. A WWII B-17 will be on display, and rides will be available for $350. This is in addition to the regular open house Saturday the 21 st.

Several visitors signed up to join the club. Eric Dustrud enrolled as a returning member. Kevin Ott, Norm Nichols, and Lee Carter are also in the process of joining

Club Members had suggestions on how to spend any surplus treasury funds by improving the club. Several ideas were presented and discussed but nothing was voted on or passed.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:05PM.
