Minutes Sept /04

Pat opened the meeting at 6:00 and asked for the reading of the minutes

Scott read the minutes

Pat gave the officers report for Earl, Mark and Gerry, as they are not present

Pat asked if there was anything to report from the secretary. Nothing at this time.

Pat gave the Presidents report. All the events are complete and he thanks everyone for all the support.

Pat asked for the committee reports.

Jerry thanked everyone for their help with pylon racing this year. There was some discussion on holding an open pylon-racing event some night. More to come if this materializes.

Charlie is working on trophies for the year and went over how this year went.

Scott went over the fun fly event for this year.

Pat went over how the all bird event went this year. Pat will work on thank you letters to all the vendors who gave to us for this event.

Pat went over old business.

Somebody has fixed the broken windows in the back of the clubhouse. This person is anonymous. The windows were replaced with Plexiglas. This is a great improvement and the anonymous person was thanked by all.

Pat brought up the pilot stations to discuss when we want to take them down. We will take them down with the last mowing and put them up on the first mowing of the next year.

Pat asked Russ for a report on the lawn mowing. Russ asked if we liked the way the lawn has been mowed. Everyone liked the job he is doing. Pat brought up the new paths that were mowed and where they are.

Jerry asked if we are going to take the sign down for the winter. Some discussion was done on this and we will take the sign down and store it in Russ’s plane mfg. Plant.

Pat called for new business.

Next months meeting will be at the heritage hanger. There will be a lot of old military aircraft in the hanger for us to look at. Pat will talk to the person in charge of the museum and see if we can hold the November meeting there as well.

Pat proposed that we have the Christmas meeting moved to the second Monday of December. This was voted on and passed.

Scott will look into the use of WECU meeting facility where we held last years Christmas meeting.

Pat brought up the upcoming elections. He reminded everyone that we would open up nominations at the next meeting for a vote at the November meeting.

Pat asked if there was anything that we would want to change from this year to next year. He discussed that the mall show didn’t happen but the parade turned out to be a whole lot better. Some discussion was held on changing dates for some events next year. This will be left to the new officers to bring up and decide next year.

Jerry , Charlie and Wally went down to the pylon races at Arlington. These planes are fast and a round of ten laps averaged 1 minute.

Pat led a thank you round of applause for all the volunteers from this year.

We brought up the web site and voted on keeping the pictures current and eliminating all the old event photos.

Jerry brought up T-shirts and possibly having more done up and sold next year.

Pat asked for show and tell. Ken Huber brought a plane with floats on it.

The meeting was closed at 6:45
