| BELL AIR FLYERS September 18 th Meeting CALL TO ORDER : The meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by the president, Pat Eastman. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. OFFICERS REPORTS: The Secretary and the Vice President were absent from the meeting. The treasurer, Gail Buck, gave the financial report. The President thanked all who participated in running this summer’s events. Special thanks went out to C.D.s Bill Schnobrich, Mark Metge, Gerry Becker, Scott Wolff and Gal Buck and the concession stand crews. COMMITTIE REPORTS: Pylon and Combat reports were deferred until the next meeting. In the absence of the pylon chairman, Jerry Mclean proposed a possible winter racing program on one Saturday a month, to the membership. The president reported that the outstanding bills at Performance Hobbies have been paid. He also asked that club purchase receipts be signed by the recipient and a copy turned into the treasurer. Performance Hobbies has been notified of the change in procedure. Scott Wolff reported on the fun fly. There were 6 participants and a good time was had by all. He also said that the events were not difficult, and hopes that more people can participate next time. NEW BUSINESS: Pat Eastman reported on the annual Hoby Acres meeting. Earl Cammack was elected to be the new president for 2007, Pat Eastman as vice president, Ted Christie as the treasurer. The board of directors will remain the same. Hoby Acres voted to increase the field dues for 2007 to $70 per year. Also rental expense for a second Sanican at events will be the responsibility of the Bell Air Club. The land for sale adjoining the Hoby Acres property was discussed and they decided to take no action at this time. The October meeting will be held at the Heritage Flight Museum , October 16 th at 7:00 PM . This meeting’s agenda will include nominations for next year’s officers. The election will take place at the November meeting. Also on the agenda is a decision as to where to hold the December meeting/Christmas party. The Museum’s next open house is will be October 21 st, 12 until 4PM . Gerry Becker reported on the Marymoor Radio Control Club’s scale fly-in, and proposed that we might consider using their format for our annual fun scale event. He found the more relaxed fly-in format to be more enjoyable. Judging for awards was done by the pilots. He also suggested that the club should get dates for our events in to the AMA schedule as soon as possible in order to take advantage of possible vendor prize donations. Dates for the events are: Big Bird June 2 nd and 3 rd, Fun Scale, Saturday July 7 thand War Bird August 4 th and 5 th. Mike Richardson made a proposal to the club about having a Scale Masters qualifier event next year over the Labor Day weekend. He outlined the requirements for the event. Much discussion and Q&A followed. Voting on the issue was deferred until the next meeting. The meeting was adjourned and the raffle was held. Minutes submitted for approval by J. Bradshaw |
