PYLON RACING DATES
Here it is January 2026 and the racing heat is already beginning. Jerry McLean will be heading up the Pylon events, but he needs help, as always, the racers and others help continue the series for racing. All in good fun.

New this year is a new racing class known as the Quickie 300 plane, all scratch built powered either by comparable electric or .15 glow engine. Easy to take off, land and race along with our other electric classes and glow engine categories.

Tune and “krash” is set for May 7th, Thursday weather permitting.

All THURSDAY events start @5:00pm
(Set up, registration, food)

All SATURDAY events set up begins
@11:00 to 12:00 pm.
All Saturday events begin after club meeting.

Pylon Racing Rules

Types of planes:
ELECTRIC: any electric airplane
NITRO: glow (nitro) engine of .15 or .16 is allowed. Must have a muffler to be legal. Tuned pipes or racing engines will not be allowed.

RACING PROCEDURES:
Guidelines as used in previous years.

ELECTRIC:
** Vampires : The race will be a “flying start” to cover 8 laps.
** MIXED GLOW (NITRO) and ELECTRIC CLASS:
The race will be a “flying start” to cover 10 laps.

PENALTIES:
JUMPING THE START LINE : 1 lap will be added to your race total. CUTTING A PYLON : 1 lap will be added to your race total.
A TOTAL OF “3” CUTS : Will result in disqualification of that race.
MID AIR CRASHES : If still flyable, BOTH PLANES shall be landed as soon as possible due to safety concerns. No points would be awarded to either aircraft.
